About 6,000 Oregonians could lose food stamp benefits under new proposal

OREGON – More than 6,000 Oregonians could lose their food stamp benefits under a new proposal by the Trump administration.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Tuesday it’s proposing a new requirement for the supplemental nutrition assistance program, otherwise known as “SNAP.”

The DOA says the new proposal would close “a loophole” that allows people only minimal benefits.
