Anonymous donor treats Food for Lane County volunteers to dinner

EUGENE, Ore — Food for Lane County has been a part of the Eugene community since 1984. For the past 12 years, the organization has had a dining room that provides free meals to those in need.

“So they come in and they’re very appreciative of our service, we’re very appreciative that they’re there” said Beverlee Potter, Executive Director for Food for Lane County. “So, it’s really a wonderful place where they’re served with dignity and respect.”

But on Thursday, the volunteers were shown the same “dignity and respect” they give to others every day. An anonymous person paid for more than 100 meals, so these giving people could have their own free dinner.
