Bank of America gives $10,000 grants to local nonprofits

EUGENE, Ore. – Three different nonprofits in Lane County are receiving $10,000 grants to boost their funding thanks to a large donation from Bank of America.

The grant from Bank of America is part of its “Hunger, Housing, Education Program.” It will benefit St. Vincent de Paul, Food for Lane County and Volunteers in Medicine. Every group agreed the donations will go a long way.

Representatives from the three nonprofits took turns receiving a $10,000 check from Bank of America Monday.

Food for Lane County said the money will go towards food distribution, 30,000 meals to be exact.

“It cost money to get the trucks on the road to pick up food, bring it back here, sort it and then deliver it as well,” said Dawn Marie Woodward from Food for Lane County.

With school back in session, some families may struggle with putting food on the table.
