Chefs’ Night Out Statement for 2021

This Spring feels especially hopeful, but there are still many Springtime traditions that must continue waiting before we can enjoy them again.

One of them is Chefs’ Night Out (CNO), which showcases world-class skills of local chefs, winemakers/vintners, and brew masters who delight in sharing their passion with you. In 2020, for the first time in 30 years, CNO was canceled due to COVID-19.

Despite easing COVID restrictions, large gatherings the size of CNO are still not allowed and so it will be another year before we can savor the flavors of Chefs’ Night Out.

Additionally, restaurants and beverage purveyors need more time before they are back in a position to donate their labor, ingredients and other supplies as they customarily do for this event. Their generosity helps make CNO more than a fun night out on the town. Along with ticket sales, CNO generates funding that helps provide access to approximately 400,000 meals for people experiencing food insecurity in Lane County.

Fighting hunger is the main purpose of the event, which is why it’s important that we bring CNO back as soon as we can. You play an important role in making this possible.

When CNO 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19, many of you opted to donate your tickets back to FFLC. Your generosity relieved FFLC from issuing several hundred advances for ticket reimbursements. It was a difficult time for everyone; your graciousness was greatly appreciated.

Now, we hope you’ll support participating CNO restaurants and beverage purveyors as you are able – dine-in, take-out, delivery and gift cards all help. Every meal and drink they serve now immediately strengthens them and helps improve their ability to participate in CNO next year. For a list of past participating CNO vendors, please scroll down.

Thank you for supporting the mission of FOOD For Lane County, along with our local restaurant and beverage economy. We look forward to seeing you at Chefs’ Night Out next year to continue fighting hunger in our community … because no one should be hungry.
