Imagine visiting all your favorite restaurants in one evening and not only eating amazing food, but getting to visit with the chefs as well. For “foodies” it is a dream come true when they attend Chefs’ Night Out on April 5, 2016.
Held at Eugene’s Hult Center, the venue offers an opportunity to graze cuisine that each chef has thoughtfully prepared using the area’s finest ingredients. With every level of the Hult Center’s lobby being used, some attendees work their way through it “top to bottom,” starting on the Upper Balcony and ending in The Studio where live music is playing. No matter where you start and end, you will find yummy bites of food and tastes of local wines, microbrews and spirits along the way. “It’s the best meal you will have all year,” according to Matthew W., a six-time attendee.
This unique culinary experience not only satisfies your taste buds, it also meets a critical need in our community. All of the proceeds from this event helps FOOD For Lane County provide emergency and supplemental food to our neighbors. Last year’s event provided more than 200,000 meals to people in need.Chefs’ Night Out began 26 years ago with the vision of Mike West, a Eugene chef who believed that no one should be hungry because of life’s circumstances. He prepared dinner for 50 people in his restaurant and gave the proceeds to FFLC. The next year, several restaurants became involved inviting patrons to “dine around town.” By the third year so many chefs wanted to be involved that it made more sense to bring them under one roof and “Chefs’ Night Out” at the Hult Center was a new tradition. Today, more than 50 local restaurants, wineries, microbreweries, and distilleries participate.
Chefs’ Night Out is definitely the culinary event of the year! Don’t miss out. Tickets are available now through the Hult Center ticket office. It’s only $75 for general admission ($65 if you purchase by Feb. 29th), but if you want the ultimate experience, buy the VIP/Early Entrance ticket for $90 and get in 45 minutes ahead of the crowd. And don’t forget, 100% of your ticket price will help a neighbor eat well, too!
