Training for Seed to Supper Volunteer Garden Educators
February 14 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
FOOD for Lane County is hosting a training for new Seed to Supper Volunteer Garden Educators
When: February 14th from 10am-4pm at FOOD for Lane County West Broadway Warehouse (Distribution Center), 2345 W. Broadway, Eugene.
Seed to Supper is a comprehensive 6-week beginning gardening course series that gives novice, adult gardeners the tools and confidence they need to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget. Seed to Supper is a joint effort of Oregon Food Bank (OFB) and the Oregon State University Extension Service Master GardenerTM Program, and is coordinated locally by FOOD for Lane County.
In teams of 2-4, S2S Garden Educators teach 6-week beginning gardening class series to primarily low-income populations at different sites throughout Lane County. FFLC provides teaching tools, curriculum and helpful garden giveaways to participants.
We’re looking for Master Gardeners and other experienced vegetable gardeners who are excited to teach and are open to engaging diverse populations. Interested folks should first review the position description and fill out an application, both of which can be found at www.foodforlanecounty.org/gardens
Please RSVP for this training below.
