Fighting hunger with pottery: ‘Empty Bowl Sale’ looks to give back to Lane County

EUGENE, Ore. – Local artists are joining forces with Food for Lane County in an effort to prevent hunger in the community.

Joe Davis of Clay Space is hard at work. He’ll donate this piece to Food for Lane County’s 29th annual “Empty Bowls Sale.”

“People are in need,” said Davis. “So that’s an overriding aspect in our society that needs to be dealt with.”

The Empty Bowls Sale is an event where you can buy a bowl to benefit those in need in the community. Organizers say the project brings people from all walks of life together.
