Food For Lane County opens new food distribution center in order to serve more people

EUGENE, Ore. – Fresh food and produce donations are taking on a bigger role at FOOD For Lane County.

This is the reason why the agency has opened a new food distribution center in west Eugene.

The West Broadway center will be the new pick-up point for the 150 member agencies that help feed the hungry. Food for Lane County managers say that they have more than doubled their cold storage capacity at the agency.

“With a huge 35-hundred square foot freezer, which is bigger than anything I’ve ever seen, and a couple of large refrigerated coolers–in order to be able to accept all of this produce,” said Tom Mulhern, the Executive Director for FFLC.
