International Paper funds a new grow tunnel for the FFLC Youth Farm

Thank you to the International Paper Foundation for providing us with grant funding to install a new grow tunnel at the Youth Farm, complete with an overhead sprinkler system!

The tunnel so far has allowed us to grow more cucumbers and tomatoes and will extend our growing season and our ability to grow more overwintering crops. This sprinkler system has cut down on staff time for watering, particularly when we are propagating starts in the spring. It is hooked up to our irrigation timer, which also means less staff traveling to the site on off days.

We estimate that we will be able to produce an extra ton of fresh produce annually for distribution by our partners because of International Paper Foundation’s generosity! Thank you so much!
