Kibble on Wheels program up and running as a pilot program

Our Kibble on Wheels program is now up and running as a pilot program!

We are providing our Eugene Meals on Wheels clients with free pet food if they qualify for food assistance through a pantry. The program is currently operating with grant funds provided by Meals on Wheels of America. We are looking for a permanent sponsor for the program. If you would like to help, you can make a donation of funds and specify the donation to “Kibble on Wheels”, or you can purchase pet food to donate to the program and bring it to FOOD for Lane County. We are asking for specific types of food to be donated so we can keep pets diets consistent since frequently switching pet food brands is not good for the health of pets. If you’d like to donate pet food, these are the types of food we are looking for.

  • Purina “Dog Chow” complete adult
  • Purina “Kit & Kaboodle Original Cat”
  • Friskies wet canned cat food

We know how important pets are to the well-being of seniors in our community and we are glad to be able to help alleviate some of the financial and physical burden of keeping pets healthy and well nourished.
