Letter Carriers’ Food Drive returns to Lane County after absence

The Letter Carriers’ Food Drive is back in Lane County following a two-year hiatus.

Organizers ask you to use a weatherproof bag to leave a donation of nonperishable, protein food items by your mailbox on November 20. Your letter carrier or a FFLC volunteer will pick it up.

It provides much of the non-perishable food that FOOD For Lane County distributes to their pantries throughout the coming winter months.

“When the pandemic hit, the Letter Carriers had to cancel the May 2020, November 2020 and May 2021 food drives, but now it is back and we are grateful for its return,” says Sarah Reiter, FFLC Community Engagement Coordinator. “This drive is critical to providing much needed variety in our pantries and we appreciate everyone’s participation when so many of our neighbors are struggling to put food on the table right now.”
