‘Life skills, self confidence, leadership’: Life on the FOOD For Lane County Youth Farm

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — On five acres of land in Springfield, a group of teens are learning the ropes of the workforce each summer.

The FOOD For Lane County Youth Farm coordinator says it isn’t only fresh produce that grows in this garden.

“Part of what we do has a really lasting impact on these youth that work out here,” says Youth Farm Coordinator Ted Purdy. “It gives them life skills, self confidence, leadership.”
