Summer 2022

This spring marked Oria’s fourth year as a member of FOOD For Lane County’s Youth Farm crew and third year as a Youth Farm crew leader.

Each summer at the farm, teens learn job skills and receive training in gardening, leadership, financial management and nutrition while growing food for FFLC, a community-supported agriculture program and a produce stand.

“Helping create the food we eat and seeing the plants grow has always been a big passion of mine,” said Oria. “I’m so happy that I’ve been placed on this path.”

“[The Youth Farm] helped me segue from adolescence into adulthood,” said Oria. “It helped me understand the importance of giving back to the community.”
