Our Story

Our Story

Founded in 1984 as a grassroots response to growing concerns about hunger in Lane County, we started with a single staff person, one volunteer and five board members. Today, we operate on a much larger scale to meet the needs of our community.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, Food for Lane County is led by an executive director who is supported by a dedicated leadership team that oversees our nonprofit programs, operations, development and finance.
